An important history of Piedmont and its surroundings from the fall of the Roman Empire to 1585. 4to (206 x 142mm). Title within woodcut border and with printer's device, woodcut initials and headpieces (some dampstaining including on title). Later speckled boards backed in calf decorated in gilt, coloured speckled edges (light wear). Provenance: two early ownership inscriptions on title, one of which erased - a few marginal annotations and some scribbles - Clementis Giuntellae (bookplate)..
