DASTLE MK10 - History:
The Dastle Mk10 is a British single-seater race car built by Dastle Manufacturing Co. in the 1960s. Designed for promotional series and hill climbs, it features a lightweight tubular chassis paired with BMC Mini powertrain components, offering an excellent power-to-weight ratio. These handcrafted cars, produced in very limited numbers, are now particularly rare and highly sought after by enthusiasts of historic motorsports.
Description:
This Dastle Mk10 is offered in the condition in which it was found after a long period of storage.
The fiberglass body is generally complete and features a beautiful original patina. The yellow paint is original and has a few scratches, chips, and signs of wear, with no apparent major damage.
The tubular chassis appears complete and visually sound. The vehicle is equipped with its roll bars, suspension, running gear, and front and rear tubular roll cages.
The engine compartment is complete and houses a tuned BMC Mini engine, equipped with a Rootes cylinder head, a custom intake manifold, and two horizontal Weber carburetors, suggesting it was tuned for competition. The engine has not been started, and no mechanical tests have been performed.
The cockpit is complete with its dashboard, Smiths gauges, sport steering wheel, gearshift lever, and bucket seat. The interior is in good condition despite a thick layer of dust from storage.
The Dastle Manufacturing Co. manufacturer’s plate is still present on the chassis, although the numbers are no longer legible.
This Dastle provides an excellent foundation for a rebuild and light restoration, or for preparation for historic racing events.
