Inscription: Inscribed in the centre of the printing plate: "A la Charité", at the back side collection stamp Kupferstichkabinett der Staatlichen Museen (Lugt No. 1606), redemption stamp of the Kupferstichkabinett (Lugt No. 2398) and Karl Ferdinand Friedrich von Nagler (Lugt No. 2529).

Date: 1771

Description: "A la Charité' is written at the bottom above a group where two men are carrying a woman's room on a stretcher to the right, next to which an old woman is walking. On the left, a fat officer stands next to a young girl with a muff, on whose shoulder he has placed his right hand, with the other he grasps her chin. In the upper space of the plate across is an armoured horseman galloping to the right; next to him a small horse's head in contour, and above both a small horseman sprinting to the left, slightly wheeled in." (Engelmann 1857, p. 61).
