DE-79. Delaware. January 1, 1776. 10 Shillings. PCGS Banknote Superb Gem Uncirculated 67 PPQ.
No. 79856. Signed by J. McKinly, T. Collins and B. Manlove. Printed by James Adams, 1776. The third note in a trio of January, 1776 Delaware issues, this 10 Shilling note shares the broad margins, sharp signatures and superb paper quality of the other two. Also like the others in this issue, both PMG and PCGS Currency have graded several others in the 67PPQ and 68 PPQ range. None of this however should take away from the incredible quality of this note, and to see any nearly 250-year-old note in this condition remains a relatively rare treat. PCGS Banknote Pop 1/None Finer.
Estimate: $800 - $1,200.
Provenance: From the Mid-Continent Collection.
