DENIS MITCHELL
1912-1993
HELA

signed with initials, titled and dated 1977 on the underside of the base
Honister slate
height (including Artist's base): 22cm.; 8¾in.
Conceived and carved in 1977, the present work is unique.

Condition Report:
The sculpture appears sound. There is a very slight inconsistency to the surface of the slate around the right edge at the front that appears inherent to the slate. There are a small number of tiny nicks to the extreme edges and the base, only visible upon close inspection. There is a very small square of what appears to be a historic infill, only visible upon close inspection, to the reverse. There may be some light surface dust to the work. This excepting, the work appears in very good overall condition.

The work is attached to the Artist's slate base.
