DKW - 1000 S Coupe - 1961

Isn’t it nice? Beautiful DKW 1000S Coupé from 1961, in the original light green with a white roof. Delivered new in Sweden and driving around there until a few weeks ago. The Swedish climate, without salt on the roads, has ensured the car is in fine condition. The car is 60 years old. A lovely vehicle. Most DKWs of this type, also called the 3=6 model and the "large DKW", are a 2-door saloon model. The doors have a window stile as usual and the rear side window is fixed. Only a few Coupés like this one were delivered, but without a window stile on the door and the rear window winds down, just like for example a Volkswagen Beetle convertible. The Coupé is therefore very attractive. The original upholstery is not so nice anymore hence the seat covers, the original headliner is very neat. Easy to find new upholstery. The car is largely in original condition, it was always used and has a beautiful patina. The DKW comes with Swedish registration documents, EU exports documents can be supplied free of charge to any foreign buyers for easy registration in their country. A beautiful car with lots of allure. The car has lots of nice details such a properly working steering shifter, a nice old-fashioned Blaupunkt car radio which works fine, many DKW / Auto Union logos and a wonderful 3-cylinder 2-stroke sound. Engine: 981cc, 3-cylinder, two-stroke 42k. W = 57 hp (this car is the S model, the most powerful version) . Manual gearbox with 4 gears. It drives great, it shifts well and brakes properly. In summary, a wonderful and usable classic. The car is in Hengevelde, the Netherlands. The seller can arrange relatively inexpensive transport throughout the EU, even now during the coronavirus crisis. Worldwide transport is not a problem as this would be done by a professional transport company.
