The present painting seems to be strongly influenced by the style of the Spanish painter Jusepe de Ribera, who worked in Valencia and Naples at the same time as Juan Do. A possible authorship of Do is supported by the parallels in the physiognomy and style with the painting "Adoration of the Shepherds" at the Neapolitan Chiesa della Pietà dei Turchini, which is attributed to Juan Do.

Das vorliegende Gemälde scheint stark vom Stil des spanischen Malers Jusepe de Ribera beeinflusst zu sein, der zur gleichen Zeit wie Juan Do in Valencia und Neapel tätig war. Eine mögliche Urheberschaft Dos wird unterstützt durch die Parallelen in der physiognomischen und stilistischen Behandlung mit dem Juan Do zugeschriebenen Gemälde "Anbetung der Hirten" in der neapolitanischen Chiesa della Pietà dei Turchini.
