The bowl supported by a Gilt Robed Demeter (Goddess of the Harvest). Measures 12"x12"x18 1/2". Weight 13 pds. One of 2 offered in this auction. Karl Richard Klemm founded a porcelain decorating studio in Striesen bei Dresden in 1869. At the time, there were more than forty studios in and around Dresden that specialized in the painting of porcelain in the Meissen style. The porcelain was obtained primarily from the Meissen factory itself.
