DUFFNER & KIMBERLY VIKING LEADED GLASS TABLE LAMP

An incredibly rare and important lamp by Duffner & Kimberly. This lamp is one of very few known examples of the Viking lamp by Duffner & Kimberly. The Viking is one of their most prestigious and coveted models from their famed 1906 catalog. The monumental lamp sits at 30" tall with the shade measuring 24" in diameter. The shade features a beautiful emerald green background with an intricate geometric design in beautiful shades of purples, teals, yellows and reds. The shade is further decorated with bronze straps, which terminate in a monster head with outstretched tongue, reminiscent of the bow of a Viking ship. Condition: The shade is in excellent condition, with just a few small tight hairline cracks. It is signed on one of the inside straps, "Duffner & Kimberly" with the DK symbol, and another strap bears the number "513," which is the model number of the Viking from the Duffner catalog. The shade sits on the correct Duffner & Kimberly Viking bronze base. The base is decorated with monster heads matching that on the shade, as well as claws at the pedestal of the base. The base is signed "Duffner & Kimberly New York" with the DK symbol. It includes the original finial. This incredible example comes from the renowned collection of collector Barry Toombs.
