DUMAS ALEXANDRE: Père (1802-1870) French Writer whose works include The Three Musketeers. A.N.S., A. Dumas, one page, brown paper, oblong 8vo, Paris, 5th September 1857, to Monsieur Crupis, in French. The document being a receipt given by Dumas, stating in full `Received from Mr. Crupis, Administrator of the Comédie Française, the amount of five hundred francs, in exchange of my rights for Ten performances of Bette.´ Small overall age wear and toning, with one extremely small paper loss area to the bottom edge, otherwise G La Cousine Bette is a novel by French author Honoré de Balzac (1799-1850). In the 1840´s and 1850´s a serial format known as the ''Roman-Feuilleton'' was highly popular in France and gained prominence mostly to Balzac´s friends Eugene Sue and Alexandre Dumas.
