[ translate ]

DUNCAN GRANT
1885-1978
MARRAKECH

signed and dated 65
pencil and oil on paper on board
36 by 51cm.; 14 by 20¼in.

Condition Report:
The sheet has been fully laid down onto the board, most likely by the Artist. The upper edge of the sheet is neatly cut, not visible in current frame. There are Artist's pinholes to the corners of the work, along the upper edge, and towards the centre of the lower edge, with one or two associated pinhead marks. There are very faint creases towards the upper edge, lower right corner, and above the second palm tree from the left edge, only visible upon close inspection. There are one or two scuffs to the work in places. There may be some very minor rubbing due to the frame at the extreme edges. There is some minor surface dirt and studio detritus and one or two tiny specks of surface matter to the sheet in places. Subject to the above, the work appears to be in very good overall condition.

Inspection under Ultraviolet light does not appear to reveal any obvious signs of fluorescence and retouching

The work is held in a canvas slip and presented in a gilt painted wooden frame.
