DUTCH MUSICAL LONGCASE CLOCK

The 8-day movement with anchor escapement, Dutch striking, a musical train playing 6 tunes on 26 bells. The arched brass dial with silvered chapter Roman numerals and Arcadian minute markings, the dial centre with subsidary dials for Day, Date and Month. Signed by Johannes George Gruning, Amsterdam on the chapter ring. In a typical Dutch walnut veneered case with bombe base and surmounted by three gilded carved wooden figures.

Condition: The case, movement and dial all appear to be original. The movement is in working order but has not been set up to run in the showroom. This clock was purchased from Gerald Marsh, Winchester.
