The Wallis family autographs were signed at the unveiling of the house plaque at 241 New Cross Road, SE London, Wallis lived there from 1892 to 1909, his father a doctor. The plaque a red not blue one was unveiled 29 September 1984. I Alan Cooper wrote to Lewisham Council asking them to consider a plaque being placed at his former home, the reply they only put one a year up and they already had twelve waiting to be placed. However, a short time later a further letter to say under consideration they had decided to place the one to Barnes Wallis next. A reception at Lewisham followed attended by a number of Dambusters including David Shannon and Mick Martin both awarded the DSO for the raid, the unveiling followed at No 241. Every time I have pass the area, I have looked for the plaque and it looks today as if it had been just unveiled, a tribute to a great man. The Wallis children were still even in 1984 arguing as to whose marbles they were that Barnes used for his experiments in the garden of his home. Good Condition. All signed pieces come with a Certificate of Authenticity. We combine postage on multiple winning lots and can ship worldwide. UK postage from £3.99, EU from £5.99, Rest of World from £7.99.
