With the painting, a diptych from an exhibition that the artist made is attached BIOGRAPHY OF DANIEL CODORNIU (Mallorca, 1943) Painter and draftsman born in Ciutat de Mallorca in 1943. In 1959 he moved to Barcelona. He was a student at the School of Arts and Crafts in Palma and the Sant Jordi School in Barcelona. Since the mid-60s he has attended painting contests in Pollença, Barcelona, Palma, Tàrrega, Felanitx, Santanyí, etc. , winning several prizes. At the same time, he exhibited in individual and group shows held in various Mallorcan towns, Barcelona ("Gioconda") , Terrassa ("Arxiu Tobella" and "Mobar") , Sitges ("Agora-3", 1979) , Palma ("Jaime III" , 1980) , etc. Themes from a marine context predominate in his work, painted with pronounced color contrasts and a vibrant luminism and Mediterranean roots. He has won several prizes in painting and drawing competitions, of which we highlight: Young Painting from Sala Parés (Barcelona, 1965) ; I Sidi Ifni Painting Contest Prize (1966) ; II Ciutat de Tàrrega Prize (Lleida, 1974) ; Villa de Santany Award (Mallorca, 1978, 1979, 1980 and 1984) and Paul Roubaud Award (Auberge de Belvédere, France, 1988) . His work is characterized by representing landscapes and seascapes in a style between impressionist and expressionist, where Mediterranean light and color predominate, although he is also interested in the human figure, from an intimate perspective. He uses various pictorial techniques: oil, acrylic, pastel and mixed. His signature is "Codorniu".
