Daum (French Est.1879), an unusual commemorative barrel shaped glass possibly some commemoration for coopers and beer makers, c.1895, unsigned, The cased ‘clair de lune’ (opalescent) glass of barrel form including a bung, acid-etched in relief with trailing hops and horizontal bands heightened with enamel and gilt, decorated en grisaille with a stylised barrel enclosing figures, 9.5 cm high
A small acid mark on the rim beneath the gilding. Small open bubble on the inside of the vessel from the making process. Some small losses to the gilt on the rim and the bung. Natural wear to base.
