Daum Nancy - Ecole de Nancy - Wall lamp
Large bronze wall lamp from the Art Nouveau period in the style of Majorelle and the school of Nancy. It holds a white-grey ribbed glass tulip, ovoid in shape, decorated with heat-stretched spikes and speckled with anise green and red-brown interspersed powders. This is the "comfrey flower" model by DAUM. This copy is not signed, which is not exceptional in the case of this model which, moreover, is well known and documented: this tulip even appears on one of the "studies for flower-shaped lampshades" made around 1900 and coming from the DAUM collection (last photo - Musée des Beaux-Arts de NANCY) . The wall lamp and the tulip are in very good condition. It can be mounted on the wall with or without the wooden plate. With a little adjustment it could even be used as a table lamp as it is stable on its base plate.
