The mythological Minotaur is a recurring motif in Bowie's output during the 1990's. His charcoal drawing of a kneeling Minotaur was originally from a series of images created for the 1993 play 'We saw the Minotaur'. In Bowie's 1995 concept album 'Outside', several tracks are sung from the enigmatic perspective of 'The Artist/Minotaur'.
