London, circa 1800. Broken-arch case with three top pads, brass carrying handle, cast brass frets to the front door, fish-scale side frets and brass ogee feet. White enamel dial with Roman hours and Arabic five-minute marks, brass hands. Eight-day double chain fusee movement striking on a bell, with strike/silent lever, the backplate engraved with a floral wreath and signed 'David Hare, London'. Verge escapement with an adjustable crown wheel pivot, the pallet arbor on anti-friction rollers with screwed beat adjustment; pendulum with locking screws.
