David Schulman (1881-1966) - Stilleven met gladiolen

David Schulman creates in an impressionistic and naturalistic way
way many village views, landscapes, harbor views and also
still lifes and portraits. He received a number of awards
including the Willink van Collen Prize. He was a member of several
artist associations including the Gooische Painters' Association,
Arti et Amicitiae in Amsterdam, Sint Lucas, and Pulchri Studio in The Hague.
During the Second World War, David was arrested by the Germans in 1943 and
he spent three months in Westerbork. He was appointed in 1955
as Knight in the Order of Orange-Nassau.
