A pair of 'Geodesic Dome' clip earrings by David Webb from the 57th Street collection. In 18k yellow gold these earrings feature tear drops of gold scattered across a raised dome of textured gold, connected together in a geometric design.
David Webb drew inspiration for these earrings from Buckminster Fuller's Geodesic Dome which was on display at the New York Museum of Modern Art in 1952 and at the Worlds Fair in 1964.

David Webb (1925-1975) started his jewelry company in 1948 and designed jewelry until his death in 1975 winning the prestigious Coty award in 1964. His list of clientele includes the First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, Elizabeth Taylor, and Beyonce. His company is still producing jewelry from his archive of nearly 40,000 drawings and designs, while many of his pieces can be found in several major art museums including the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York and the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris.
