DE DOBBELEER, Jean-Baptiste Collection of architectural drawings for the palace of the Archbishop in Mechelen. [Antwerp] 1818-1827 Pen and ink, with red wash, laid paper. Various sizes and conditions. 6 architectural drawings with elevations and ground plans of the palace of the Archbishopric of Mechelen. The plans include detailed legends, scales and measurements for the restauration of the building complex after it was purchased by the Province of Antwerp in 1818. Although the commission was ultimately given to architect Jean Verstraeten, these plans were most likely part of a project proposal by De Dobbeleer to obtain the commission. Prov.
