Decoction apparatus (also known as an infusion apparatus), Germany, ca. 1900, brass, iron, etc. Pharmaceutical laboratory apparatus or water bath for the preparation of herbal extracts and the like. Round, double-walled iron housing on three legs, surrounded by a hollow brass ring; opening for a two-part infusion jar, made of brass or porcelain (lid chipped) with two wooden handles. On the housing is a company nameplate reading “Wilhelm Schwarzenau 02720 Berlin.” The nameplate is worn and slightly dented. H. 49 cm
