attributed to Thomas Chandler, likely made at Kirksey's Crossroads, Edgefield District, late 1840's, brownish green alkaline glaze, elongated ovoid jug form, applied kaolin slip "5" capacity mark encircled by decoration, applied arching strap handles, spout with ridged neck and thick rim, 17 in. - Provenance: Collection of Dr. Joseph T. and Gaile E. Condition Report: glaze voids and anomalies as made, restorations to shoulder of jar around rim and handles and entire back of jar, other possible areas of restoration to side and lower body, remnants of green paint,ÿ
