Deep Russet-Brown Jade 'Double Dragon' Archaic Pendant, 19BD
This intricately carved jade ornament is sculpted from deep russet brown jade, formed as an archaic style pendant featuring two outward facing dragon heads at each end of an arched upper section, with elaborate scrolling relief patterns across the arched body and a symmetrical mask like decorative panel set within a stepped rectangular base below. The double dragon motif traditionally symbolises power, protection and auspicious fortune. The jade displays a rich, saturated deep brown tone with scattered lighter mottled flecks distributed across the carved surface. The front surface bears detailed incised scrollwork while the reverse maintains a smooth, flat base, finished with a moderate polished sheen that highlights the flowing carved relief. Dimensions: 9.5 cm x 6 cm
