Denis OSSO Passionate self-taught painter, a creator of offbeat universes where color, shape, and the absurd meet. My work is a celebration of the diversity of human faces, reinterpreted through the prism of extravagance. My paintings are populated with the heads of characters with eccentric faces, displaying oversized mouths, prominent noses and hypnotic eyes.
WHY THE TRUMPIS?
In the vast world of art, there are movements that transcend simple aesthetics to convey a deeply political and social message. One such movement was born in the creative mind of an artist who chose to oppose arrogance, megalomania and lies in the most beautiful and powerful form there is: art. The “Trumpis” are a series of works that embody an artistic rebellion against the attitude of Donald Trump, the former American president known for his provocative behavior and controversial speech.
The “Trumpis” are the heads of characters with exaggerated features: disproportionately large mouths, imposing noses, female heads with disproportionate breasts, mischievous dogs, mischievous cats and strange birds. Each of these characters carries within itself a subtle satire of the personality of Donald Trump. The exaggerated mouths symbolize the flamboyant and sometimes misleading rhetoric that marked his mandate. The big noses allude to his authoritarianism and his way of interfering in the affairs of others. The heads of women with large breasts represent his attitude towards women and his inappropriate comments.
