Rectangular, the cover applied with the regimental badge of the Derbyshire Yeomanry Cavalry flanked by trophies and flags on an engine-turned ground within a fruiting laurel border, the sides with similar laurel bands, gilded interior, the inside cover with presentation inscription dated 1825 and with engraved arms and crest of Sir Robert WILMOT (1765-1842), length 11.5cm, weight 20oz.

The presentation inscription reads: "Presented by an old member of the Corps to his Brother Officers of the D Y C in token of his attachment to them and sense of the many kindnesses they have conferred on him, 1825," below a heraldic shield.

The arms and crest of Sir Robert WILMOT (1765-1842), 3rd Baronet Wilmot of Chaddesden, Derbyshire. He was the son of Sir Robert WILMOT (1731-1793), 2nd Baronet Wilmot of Chaddesden by Mary WOOLLETT (died 1811). He married twice: Firstly, in 1796, Lucy GRIMSTON (died 1812), daughter of Robert GRIMSTON Esq. of Neswick, Yorkshire; Secondly, in 1817, Bridget CRAUFURD (died 1844) daughter of Sir Alexander CRAUFURD, Baronet, and widow of Daniel CRAUFURD Esq.
