Eastern Air Lines (also colloquially known as Eastern) operated from 1926 to 1991, and was
headquartered at Miami International Airport. Despite decades of market domination of NY to FL flights, airline deregulation eventually took its toll. After labor disputes and financial strain, the company was liquidated in 1991 and many of it's routes obtained by American Airlines.
