Detective Comics #2 (DC, 1937) CGC Qualified GD/VG 3.0 Off-white to white pages....
Detective Comics #2 (DC, 1937) CGC Qualified GD/VG 3.0 Off-white to white pages. This is it, folks! You will not see this book very often in your life. Rarer than issue #4 and even rarer than Detective Comics #1 or #27 (the first Batman), The Photo-Journal Guide to Comic Books rates this issue a "9" ("very rare") in its Scarcity Index. Like many comics of the time, this was an anthology, with Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster turning in two stories, one of them starring Slam Bradley. This was still a year before Superman would make his comic-book debut and the two creators would help define the comic book medium. Currently tied for #94 on Overstreet's list of Top 100 Golden Age Comics. Creig Flessel draws the cover. CGC notes, "Centerfold missing. Universal grade: 0.5." Overstreet 2026 GD 2.0 value = $6,770.
