A rare comic indeed, this very early DC book represented Major Malcolm Wheeler-Nicholson's move toward a themed comic, with all the stories belonging to a single genre, crafted in the mold of the pulp magazine. So Creig Flessel kicks it off with the cover and lead story featuring Speed Saunders. The most notable creators represented here are Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster, who turn in a four-page *Bart Regan, Spy* segment and a 13-page *Slam Bradley* story. Gerber's *Photo-Journal Guide to Comic Books* rates this issue an "8" ("rare"). Overstreet 2026 FN 6.0 value = $9,900. CGC census 10/26: 2 in 5.5, 2 higher.
