Deux carreaux de pavement Kashan en céramique moulée lustrée, Perse XII-XIIIe siècle
Two Kashan lustre moulded pottery tiles, Persia, 12th/13th Century
each of square form, moulded in relief and decorated in a golden-yellow lustre, cobalt blue and turquoise on a cream ground, variously decorated with inscriptions, animal motifs and vegetal scrollwork
each approx. 31 x 31 cm.(2)

Inscriptions: including sokhan guy, 'eloquent.'
A tile bearing a similar design to one of those featured within the present lot, dated to the 14th Century, is in the Victoria and Albert Museum, London, Acc. No. 544-1900. For a comparable tile featuring a band of inscriptions and moulded upper border dated to the 12th/ 13th Century sold in London, see Bonhams, Islamic and Indian Art Online Sale, 20-28 October 2022, Lot 24.
