Deux flambeaux Khorasan en bronze, Perse XII-XIIIe siècle
Two Khorasan bronze lampstands, Persia, 12th/13th Century
the first on tripod base, rising to a domed body set with a series of six depressed lobed elements engraved to each with inscription filled cartouches in kufic, with baluster shaft, the circular drip tray with domed centre and everted rim; the second in four sections, a drip tray, shaft, base and detached foot
each approx. 47 cm. high

The present lot is typical of lampstands from the later Khorasan school. For further examples and discussion, see A. S.
