'The Register of Baptisms, Marriages & Burials of the Parish of Falmouth in the County of Cornwall, 1663-1812.' transcribed and edited by Susan Elizabeth Gay and Mrs Howard Fox, H. Tapley-Soper, general editor, first edition, issued to members only, The Devon and Cornwall Record Society, Exeter, 1914. in two volumes part 1 marriages and baptisms Ppxxxii, 668 and part II burials Pp (ii), 669-1105 incl, the editing and publishing of the registers of a parish is a work of great importance, the old volumes with tattered covers, stained pages and faded ink. The destruction of old registers has been for the most part a gradual one, accomplished by damp, age, inks that were not permanent etc. Susan Gay and Mrs Fox undertook the task to collate all this information thanks to the help of the late Revd. Canon Christopherson (1882-1912), who kindly lent the surviving volumes. Additionally the 'Bishop’s Transcripts' at Exeter of the register of Falmouth are incomplete and fragmentary; They have been carefully compared with this transcript and all discrepancies noted, both volumes in original bindings, with the stamp of Dartington Hall Library Devon Collection, pages uncut, with the exception of some foxing on the endpapers, these vols are in nearly fine condition.
