Dick Ayers and Vince Colletta Two-Gun Kid #76 Story Page 4 Original Art (Marvel, 1965). A basic component of Marvel's heroic books is the burly sidekick who looks after the better interests of the leading character. In the Two-Gun Kid series, that figure is Boom Boom Brown, confidante and protector of Matt "Two-Gun" Hawk. In this stirring sequence, Boom Boom rushes to the aid of Hawk against a crooked plainsman named Scragg. Hawk appears in two panels, but Boom Boom has the situation under control before Scragg can react. Marvel workhorse Ayers is at his dynamic best, here, with a sympathetic inking job from Colletta. Ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 12.5" x 18.5". Excellent condition, barring a patch of adhesive residue at lower right.
