Dioptase, Malachite Tantara Mine, Shinkolobwe, Kambove Territory, Haut-Katanga, DR Congo 6.1 x 4.6 x 1.6 cm (2.4 x 1.81 x 0.63 in) By all accounts, a beautiful Dioptase specimen with a display of sharp emerald-green crystals set on a contrasting red-orange matrix. Each crystal is translucent and complemented with a splendid glassy luster. However, this miniature specimen has a secondary generation of minor Malachite botryoides isolated atop the Dioptase–a signature combination from the Tantara Mine.
