Dioptase on Dolomite Tsumeb Mine, Tsumeb, Oshikoto Region, Namibia "A thin plate of small white dolomite crystals measuring 7.5 cm in diameter with dioptase crystals to about 2 cm growing on them. Bought the specimen from Clive Queit in Tsumeb." - Rock H. Currier These crystals are as big as Tsumeb Dioptase crystals get and extremely lustrous in the bargain. Bright green crystals sitting on a contrasting, snow-white Dolomite/Calcite matrix, this is a "beeee-youuuu-tee-full" specimen, as Clive would say. After traveling to Tsumeb to see it for himself, and making Clive's acquaintance, Clive regularly sent over boxes, and boxes, and boxes, of Dioptase directly to Rock. Wouldn't you know it? Rock somehow managed to keep the better ones for himself ... funny how that would happen ;-) Overall Measurements: 3.0 x 2.0 x 0.8 inches (7.5 x 5.0 x 2.0 cm) Offered at no reserve Provenance: Bought from Clive Queit [RHC #3633, acquired 1978] MinID EG4-5AC [Scale: 1 inch, with mark at 1 cm]
