Dioptase with Calcite, Malachite and Chrysocolla Mashamba West Mine, Sicomines copper-cobalt project, Mutshatsha, Lualaba, DR Congo 5.6 x 3.4 x 2.5 cm (2.20 x 1.33 x 0.98 in) This colorful small cabinet specimen features a rich combination of Dioptase, Calcite, Malachite, and Chrysocolla. Gemmy, deep green rhombohedral Dioptase crystals are scattered across the host rock, with the largest measuring 0.9 centimeters and displaying a bright glassy luster. Pale yellow Calcite crystals are speckled alongside the Dioptase, while velvety green, fibrous Malachite fills the spaces between the crystals, adding another distinctive copper mineral. A soft coating of light blue Chrysocolla covers the exposed areas of the matrix, providing a vivid backdrop that highlights the specimen's contrasting colors.
