Alice Davis The Wild Goose Large 11'' x 45'' Original Art (Wat Disney, 1950s/1960s). Featured in this lot is a beautiful piece of original gouache and ink art on custom translucent paper by Disney Legend Alice Davis (1929 – 2022). Alice attended Chouinard Art Institute on scholarship in 1947, learning all she could about fabric, costuming, and fine art before she started her career at Beverly Vogue and Lingerie House designing women's lingerie and underclothes. This enormous piece, titled The Wild Goose, was likely created after she began working for Disney, but you can definitely see that influence in the figures and their attire. The drawing captures eight different types of women in clothing – or lack thereof – that is as distinct as their personalities. Each includes a small bit of hand-written dialogue. The figures range from about 3'' x 4.25'' to around 10.5'' x 6.5'', created on a huge 11'' x 45'' sheet of custom paper. The piece is displayed in a 16'' x 50'' glass frame and was proudly hung in Alice and Marc Davis's home. All frames are sold as-is. Photos are not representative of actual frame condition.
