The Disney Store – Minnie Mouse, Morty and Ferdie Store Display Character Props Group of 3 (Walt Disney, c. 1990s-2000s). A fabulous trio of rare Disney Store character props featuring fashion icon, Minnie Mouse and her nephews Morty and Ferdie Fieldmouse. The nephews' first film appearance was the 1934 Mickey Mouse short Mickey's Steam-Roller. Aside from a cameo in the 1938 short Boat Builders, they didn't appear in animation again until Mickey's Christmas Carol in 1983, with Morty playing the part of Tiny Tim and Ferdie as an unnamed Cratchit son. It's super rare to find anything featuring Morty and Ferdie but to find them as Disney Store props is incredible! In 2018, Mickey's love interest was recognized for her contributions in animation with her own star on the world-famous Hollywood Walk of Fame. These fantastic store props are from a staged scene in one of the Disney Stores they called, Mickey's Toy Shoppe. Morty and Ferdie measure 21" and 18" one on a 1" base and the other on a 5" stool. Minnie measures roughly 24". These fiberglass props were actual display pieces in The Disney Store and were never sold to the public. Incredibly popular with customers, these oversized characters inspired the highly collectible Disney Big Figs which were sold exclusively through Disney retail stores, parks, and catalogs throughout the late 90s and early 2000s. As expected, these very rare store props exhibit typical wear from their use and removal. Despite some holes from mounting, paint chips, scuffs and scratches as expected, these highly prized Disney props will display beautifully in any animation collection. Overall condition is Fair to Good. HID09710052018 © 2022 Heritage Auctions | All Rights Reserved
