Alice Davis RARE "It's a Small World" Signed American Eskimo Original Concept Art and Studio Model Sheet Print Group of 3 (Walt Disney, 1963). "And I had a field day because, as a Depression child, I didn't have any dolls, and now I had the best dolls in the world to play with." Disney Legend Alice Davis (1929 – 2022) began working with fellow Disney Legend Mary Blair (1911 – 1978) in 1963 to research and design the costumes for the "It's a Small World" attraction at the 1964-65 New York World Fair. This rare lot includes not just one but two original concept sketches by this incredible artist as well as the detailed studio model sheet print. All feature a design for a young American Eskimo girl dressed in a warm calico coat and parka with fur boots and snowshoes. The first full figure drawing measures approximately 4.75'' x 9.5'' on trimmed 8.5'' x 14'' paper. The second is rendered on folded 17'' x 14'' paper and measures 5.5'' x 10'' while the print is on standard 8.5'' x 11'' paper. The first piece as been signed by Alice Estes Davis. This is a remarkably rare group that captures the enduring charm in Alice's work, as well as her skill and the process she used to create these wonderful designs. This lot would undoubtedly make an incredible wonderful addition to any Disney collection. Good to Very Good condition overall with minor edge and handling wear, faint smudging, and small erased areas. From the Disney Legend Inductees Marc and Alice Davis Archive.
