Mr. Toad Hand-Painted Big Fig Paint Master (Walt Disney, 2004). This is Kevin Kidney and Jody Daily's hand-painted "paint master," used in the creation of their Mr. Toad Big Fig that was released in the Fall of 2004 in the Disney Catalog. "The fabulous J. Thadeus Toad" is depicted here in a wonderful pose, as he looks up with a playful smile. Kevin Kidney has stated that this is "my personal favorite of all our ‘big fig' characters." Paint masters such as this are used to ensure the final produced figures are consistent in the desired color and style. The hand-painted resin figure is adhered to a wooden display base, and still retains its Disney production sample tag with hand-written notes. It measures 17" x 12" x 18" and is in Very Good condition with minor surface wear. Kevin and Jody's Mr. Toad figure received new life at Walt Disney World, where one was painted over to resemble stone and became a permanent display in the Haunted Mansion's graveyard as a tribute to the popular attraction that closed in the Magic Kingdom in 1998.
