Disneyland – Disneyland Railroad "Holiday" Drumhead Sign (Walt Disney, c. 1970s-1990s). The Disneyland Railroad has been a hallmark of the Happiest Place on Earth since its opening in 1955. Walt Disney's passion for trains was apparent in all aspects of his life, from his boyhood job as a railroad news butcher, to his own personal miniature railroad in his home's backyard, named the Carolwood Pacific Railroad. It was therefore only natural that he would plan for a railroad to encircle his theme park. This drumhead was used on one of the Disneyland Railroad's Holiday trains. The text and imagery is screened on acrylic board, which can be illuminated from behind within its custom display frame. Proudly boasting the names "Disneyland Railroad" and "Holiday" around the Park's classic Sleeping Beauty Castle logo, the drumhead measures 25.5" in diameter and 3.5" thick.
