Disneyland – Previously Lost Footage of Walt Disney and Mouseketeers at Disneyland (Walt Disney, 1955). This is an exceptionally rare 16mm film of Walt Disney and the Mouseketeers at Disneyland in 1955 during the Park's opening year. The film, previously thought to be lost, has only recently resurfaced, providing new footage of Walt and the Mouseketeers during the christening of the Disneyland Express "Snow White" bus line on November 19, 1955. The bus, dubbed the "Snow White Bus," was decorated by Walt Disney Studios artists with a specially created Snow White theme. This 16mm silent film contains just over 5min of color footage containing exceptionally rare views of early Disneyland, as well as key individuals including Walt Disney, the Mouseketeers, the Disneyland Band and Vesey Walker, and many others. In this spectacular footage, the Disneyland bus drives into Main Street at Disneyland as the Mouseketeers wave from its windows to delighted Park guests. As the bus stops, a smiling Walt Disney and Jesse L. Haugh, president of the Metropolitan Coach Lines, are there to greet the Mouseketeers as they exit the bus. Disney and Haugh then christen the front of the bus with bottles of champagne, and the Disneyland Band plays as the Mouseketeers dance. This incredible look into opening year Disneyland and its earliest cast of characters is a true artifact depicting a key moment in Disneyland history. The film reel comes in a lightweight metal cannister, and the film is in Very Good playable condition. The film includes a DVD with a professionally transferred digital copy of its footage.
