Disneyland - Main Street Kodak Window with Photostat Blueprint Group of 5 (Walt Disney, 1960). Disneyland is famous for its immensely-detailed theming, and Main Street is one particularly good example of the park's meticulous stylization. This original etched glass window was part of the Eastman Kodak Store on Main Street. Incredibly, the window also comes with five pages of photostat blueprints for the window's design and location relative to the rest of the store. The intricate glass etching depicts the name of the store's sponsor, Kodak, surrounded by stylish flourishes and other decorative details. The blueprints mark the windows as being designed in early 1960, with art direction by Harvey T. Gillett. The window itself consists of a painted wooden frame measuring 39.5" x 24.25", with a thickness of about 1". The glass pane measures about 35.5" x 20", with its design etched onto the front of the pane. Hooks have been installed on the top edge of the window's frame to aid in displaying the piece. Each of the five photostat blueprints is different, with two depicting the window's details, two depicting other windows from the store, and one giving an overall plan and elevation drawings for the storefront. The prints measure about 24" x 18". The window is in Good condition, with handling and wear to be expected from a park-used piece. There is some scuffing, peeling, and chipping on the paint. The windowpane itself is in Very Good condition, with minor wear, and the prints are in Good to Very Good condition, with handling and edge wear. From the Rummell Collection.
