Disneyland/Disneyana (20th Century)
Disneyland – Band Concert Metal Sign (Walt Disney, c. 1960s-70s). This is a Park-used metal sign announcing a concert by the Disneyland Band. Walt tasked bandmaster Vesey Walker to assemble a band for Disneyland's opening day on July 17, 1955. The band was so popular, that the Disneyland Band became a mainstay of the Park and has continued to today, celebrating tens of thousands of performances over the years. This metal sign measures 17" x 23" and is in Fair to Good condition, with a few spots of paint loss to the surface from the sign's use and removal, however these areas are primarily away from the imagery and text of the sign.
