Disneyland – "Mickey's 60th Birthday" Large 59" Park-Used Mickey Mouse Sign (Walt Disney, 1988). Mickey's 60th Birthday celebration at Disneyland was epic! The celebration started in June of 1988 and featured a giant hot air balloon in the shape of Mickey named "Skyears." Each day a show would begin at the hub with everyone dressed as Mouseketeers. And what would Disneyland be without a parade to celebrate "the mouse that started it all"? The storyline for Mickey's 60th Birthday Parade had Mickey's relatives arriving from all over the world to celebrate. It was quite a "cheesy" affair. Presented in this lot is a large park-displayed sign that reads "Sixty Years With You" and features the iconic mouse in full tuxedo with tails and tennis shoes. The PVC board sign was created at Disneyland's world-famous sign shop and measures an impressive 59" x 45".
