Disneyland – Main Street Electrical Parade Park-Used Sign (Walt Disney, c. 1980s-90s). A rare park-used sign for Disneyland's wildly popular Main Street Electrical Parade. The nighttime parade was created in 1972 and features floats and live performers covered in thousands of electronically controlled lights and a synchronized soundtrack. Since its debut more than 50 years ago, it has performed for millions of guests at Disneyland. The original iteration of the parade ran at Disneyland until its heavily-promoted "Farewell Season" in 1996, but after being dismantled, reassembled, and sent to perform at other Disney theme parks from 1999 to 2016, it returned to its original home for a limited-time run in 2017. This fantastic piece was created at the Disneyland sign shop of clear acrylic and painted and the back like an animation cel. It measures about 19" across. It exhibits edge wear with some paint chipping near the border area. It also has drill holes around the border from mounting. Overall condition is Fair to Good.
