Walt Disney World – Magic Kingdom "Crystal Palace" Buffet Sign (Walt Disney, c. 1996-2000s). Offered in this lot is an elegant countertop buffet sign from the Crystal Palace at Walt Disney World. An architectural marvel, the Crystal Palace opened to the public on October 1st, 1971, the inauguration day of Magic Kingdom. Modeled after Victorian greenhouses in the late 1800s, the impressive construction makes for a splendid dining experience, conceived initially as a cafeteria-style restaurant and modified into a buffet in 1996, primarily showcasing Winnie the Pooh costumed characters. This crème colored freestanding sign has a slot along the right edge so that rotating menu items could be specified for guests' self-service. It has an overall size of 10" x 9" x 2" with the display window measuring 7.25" x 5". A print of a similar sign in-use is included for reference. The sign exhibit typical handling and wear from park use including light surface wear and debris with minor paint chipping to some of the corners. Overall this stylish sign is in Very Good condition.
