Notes:
Located in the far north of the village of Chambolle-Musigny, the climat Les Bussières takes its name from the Latin “buxus,” meaning boxwood, and refers to a place dotted with bushes, specifically boxwood. The vineyard was planted in four phases: in 1948, 1953, 1964, and 1988. Les Bussières is a transitional climat between the Chambolle-Musigny and Morey-Saint-Denis appellations, producing elegant wines with a complex bouquet, best cellared for 4 to 5 years.

The En Brescul climat is located in the northern part of Pommard: on the upper slopes near Beaune, it overlooks the Clos des Mouches. This terroir is characterized by a very steep slope, as the climat’s name suggests; in Old French, it is said to refer either to a vineyard parcel with a steep incline or to the distinctly bent posture of the winegrower working these steep slopes. The estate’s vineyard was planted in 1997 and is spread across three terraces to accommodate the steep gradient of the land. This 41-are parcel was added to the estate in 2014.

Les Chanlins stand out for their remarkable location between Les Rugiens Hauts in Pommard and Les Pitures in Volnay, high up on the slope. This old agricultural place name simply refers to the place where flax was grown. This 41-are parcel, acquired by the estate in 2009, was replanted in 2013 and 2017. Its thin, calcareous soil, at high altitude on slopes with gradients of 15 to 20%, produces a “Volnay-like” Pommard, balancing tannic structure with velvety finesse.

Although 2021 is a year of freshness, it has nonetheless produced remarkable wines. The winter, alternating between cold and mild, was followed by polar winds and severe frosts from April 6 to 9. Thanks to a warm and sunny June, flowering proceeded smoothly. Until mid-August, the summer was very wet and temperatures remained cool. Despite a fortnight of sunny, dry weather in late August, autumnal conditions returned in September, lasting until the harvest on September 23. In 2021, the wines are fresh, highly aromatic, and airy, supported by firm, fine tannins.
