Packaging: original wooden case

Notes:
Clos de la Roche takes its name in part from its terroir, which is particularly rocky and calcareous, consisting of large boulders and a shallow layer of soil. Paradoxically, however, it is not a “clos.” This Grand Cru traditionally produces powerful, textured wines with a very pronounced minerality. The Clos de la Roche from Domaine Hubert Lignier, sourced from two parcels in Monts Luisants and Frémières, is distinguished by its density and complexity.

1991 began with a cool spring and continued with several episodes of frost in April. After a hail-stricken June, the heat and lack of rain in July and August brought a welcome change in the weather pattern. The 1991 wines stand out for their finesse and excellent aging potential.

1993 enjoyed a favorable spring, leading to even flowering. July, marked by hail and humidity, gave way to a hot, dry August, which concentrated the berries on the vines while preserving their acidity. The wines of this vintage are distinguished by their richness and fine structure.

1999 is one of those vintages that combine ripeness and yield. A cold winter and frosts in April were followed by harmonious flowering in mid-June. The summer provided ideal conditions: mild warm spells alternated with wet spells, sparing the vines from water stress. The harvest took place under excellent sanitary conditions. 1999 stands out as an exceptional vintage, producing red wines that are deep in color, rich, ripe, concentrated, and tannic, with very promising aging potential.

Domaine Hubert Lignier will be pleased to include the winning bidder in its annual allocation. This allocation will be managed and invoiced directly by Domaine Hubert Lignier, beginning with the 2027 vintage.
