Douglas MacArthur TLS Accepting 77th Birthday Wishes
TLS

A typed letter from General Douglas MacArthur (1880-1964) bearing his shortened signature, "D. Mac. A.", to an associate in Washington. 1p, measuring 7" x 10", New York, NY, February 6, 1957. Sent less than two weeks after his 77th birthday of January 26, MacArthur is gratified by the recipient's remembrance of him. Lightly toned with moderate creasing throughout. Expert separation repair to letter folds on verso, not visible from the reverse. Otherwise, very good.

In part:

"Thank you so much for your birthday message. It was thoughtful of you to remember and I appreciate it. The main joy of the day is the greeting it brings from old friends who do not forget."
